Travel Expenses
Up to 1 hour round-trip travel included in your quote. Any required parking expenses are the client's responsibility.
Extra Travel & Early Start Fees:
- Early Start Fee: For bridal bookings requiring me to leave my home before 5:00 AM, an additional fee of £50 will apply.
- Long-Distance Travel: Exceptionally long distances may incur a flat travel surcharge.
- Parking, Toll, and Bridge Fees: Clients are responsible for any parking, toll, or congestion charges incurred during travel, including any required ferry or bridge fees.
- Overnight Accommodation: If the venue requires an overnight stay due to distance or timing, additional charges will cover accommodation and associated expenses.
- Multiple Locations: If I am required to travel between multiple locations on the same morning (e.g., bridal party at one address, bride at another), an additional travel fee of £50 will apply.
- Airport/Train Station Pickup: If requested to collect or meet the client at a station or airport, a small fee may apply to cover additional travel and time.
- Bank Holidays & Sundays Bookings: An additional fee of £50 will apply.
Makeup Trials
- Bridal trials are held at my Exeter studio on Mondays and Fridays, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Trial durations: 2 hours for the bride; 1 hour for bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, or other guests.
- The trial allows us to create and perfect your wedding day look, test colours and styles, and ensure you feel confident and camera-ready.
- Please arrive with a clean, makeup-free face and a white or light-coloured top. Inspirational images from my portfolio are welcome.
- Trial fees secure the appointment and are deductible from the final bridal makeup fee if the wedding day booking is confirmed.
- Cancellation or rescheduling follows the same terms as outlined in the Cancellation section.
- I will advise you of my availability, so getting in touch to arrange a trial is greatly appreciated.
Payment Terms
To secure your wedding date and bridal trial, a non-refundable deposit is required. For any date, a deposit of £100 is required, which will be deducted from the final wedding day makeup fee. Payment is to be made via bank transfer using the invoice link provided.
The deposit must be paid ASAP to secure your booking; otherwise, the date will be released to other clients. The remaining balance must be paid at least 4 weeks in advance of your wedding day via bank transfer.
Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of the booking. For bookings made less than 3 weeks before the wedding date, full payment is required to secure the day.
Cancellation
- By the artist: Cancellation by me will result in a 100% refund of any payments made. In the unlikely event I am unable to attend due to an emergency, illness, or unforeseen circumstances, I will endeavour to find a recommended alternative makeup artist. They will be briefed on the look created during your trial and any products required.
- By the client: Payments already made are non-refundable. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
- Cancellations made within 5 months of the wedding will incur 30% of the final balance.
- Cancellations within 12 weeks of the wedding will incur the full balance.
- Adjustments to bridal party numbers are possible; however, if any members cancel less than 12 weeks before the wedding, a 40% surcharge of their quoted cost will apply.
Booking Requirements & Policy
For weekday booking (Monday - Thursday) there is no minimum requirement. For weekend bookings, (Friday - Sunday) a minimum of 4 adults is required.
Additional members can be added depending on the ceremony start time, timings and availability.
If any member of the bridal party cancels within 1 month leading up to the wedding day, the original quote will remain unchanged.
Additional Artists:
Where an additional makeup artist is required due to time constraints or booking size, this will be arranged where possible.
Please note that additional artists operate under their own business and may have different rates. Any additional costs, including travel, will be the responsibility of the bride.
Client responsibility
Please let me know about any known allergies or skin sensitivities for you or your bridal party before the day. Skin conditions should be reported before application, and I reserve the right to refuse treatment in the rare case of a contagious skin infection.
If needed, a small patch test can be carried out — one of the reasons I recommend a makeup trial.
The client agrees to release Makeup by Michelle Lopez from liability for any skin complications caused by allergic reactions. All brushes, tools and products are kept sanitary before every appointment and sanitised between every application.
Liability
I am not liable for any suppliers I recommend. Any assisting makeup artists are required to hold the relevant insurance. Makeup by Michelle Lopez holds public liability cover, insured by Salon Gold Freelancers.
Image Usage
Photos may be taken at your makeup trial and on your wedding day for reference, social media, and portfolio purposes. Please notify me if you do not wish for images to be taken or used.
Postponements
If your venue has to postpone your wedding for reasons outside your control, I'll happily move your booking to the new date, subject to availability. Please contact me and your other suppliers as soon as possible. If I can't make the new date, I can recommend an alternative artist, subject to their availability.
Trials and payments made before a cancellation or postponement are non-refundable. Please get in touch and I'll do everything I can to find the best arrangement for you and your bridal party.
